banlung_ratanakiriBanlung, the provincial town of Ratanakiri is situated 636kms northeast from Phnom Penh . There are many picturesque sights in this province which is remote, primitive and beautiful. Yak Laim Lake is 3km from Banlung; which is small nut lightly scenic crater Lake of an extinct volcano with the forest coming down to the lakeshore. The lake offers opportunities for picnicking, hiking and swimming.

Around Banlung: there are numerous waterfalls in the province, but many are inaccessible in the wet season and decode of water in the dry season. The three most commonly visited waterfalls are Chaa Ong, K Tieng and Kinchaan. The most spectacular of the three is Chaa Ong, as it is set in a jungle gorge and you are able to climb behind the waterfall.
