Pursat
Pursat sees very few tourists beyond those stopping for lunch on the roadside between Phnom Penh and Battambong. It looks a pretty dull pace from National RN5.up to now it does not attract many tourists, but is a useful overnight stop if you are traveling between the country's two major cities and want to explore the floating town of Kompong Luong on the Tonle Sap Lake.

Koh Ker Complex

Koh ker served as the capital of Jayavarman IV (ruled 924-940) who, having seized the throne, left Angkor and transferred his capital here, where it remained throughout his reign. The principal monument of this large group of interesting ruins is Prasat Thom (also known as Prasat Kompheng), whchincludes a 40mhigh sandstone-faced pyramid of seven levels. Some 40 inscroptions, dating from 932 to 1010, have been found at Prasat Thom.

Prasat Preah Vihear

The important temple complex of Preah Vihear, built on a creat of the Phnom Dangkrek at an altitude of 730, dates from the reign of Suryvaraman I(ruled 1002-1050). This is probably the most dramatic lacation of any temple in Cambodia .
